A mala is a string of 108 beads used as a tool to help the mind focus on meditation or count mantras in sets of 108 repetitions. Similar to a Catholic rosary or Anglican prayer beads, they are a visible way to express our devotion to the practice. Malas can be made with a variety of gemstones or beads with each having their own specific properties, energies and meaning. In this workshop, we will discuss the history of malas all while making our very own to use in our own private practice. A combination of yoga practice and craftiness! All beads and materials will be provided.
